One for a single file, one for several. Nothing else to learn.
That is the whole gesture. Suffix reads the file's contents, never its name — so a text file called notes.jpg is left alone, and a PNG called photo.jpg is converted.
Press your shortcut, or right-click → suffix. One panel with three things: merge into one PDF, compress, and create a ZIP.
Whatever does not apply to your selection is greyed out, with the reason on it.
Rename a screenshot to .txt and you get the words that were in it.
Scanned PDFs too — they hold pictures of text, so ordinary extraction returns nothing and suffix reads the pages instead.

The original is copied aside before anything is overwritten. Undo any conversion from the menu bar. Copies expire after seven days on their own.
Your choice. Replace leaves one file, as renaming implies. Keep both leaves photo.pdf and photo.png side by side.
